Hargita/Harghita County Council is doing everything within its powers to create a fertile ground for young entrepreneurs and business owners. Alongside the Harghita Business Center, a business incubator operating in Székelyudvarhely/Odorheiu Secuiesc, the county council is working together with local authorities to establish three new business incubators in three different locations.
The plans are old, but the goal is the same: to foster entrepreneurship among young people living in Hargita County. When the business incubator plans were announced three years ago, they targeted three towns: Csíkszereda/Miercurea Ciuc, Gyergyószentmiklós/Gheorgheni and Székelykeresztúr/Cristuru Secuiesc.
Fast forward to today, and progress has been made in Gyergyószentmiklós, where the town’s council has voted to pursue a grant to establish a business incubator in the city, reports Hungarian news portal Székelyhon. Since the original plans, the budget for opening the business incubator has increased to RON 8.8 million (up from RON 6 million). The Harghita County Council and the Gyergyószentmiklós local council will cover 50 percent of the expenses, while the remainder will be funded by the Central Development Agency if the grant application is successful.
According to the Harghita County Council, the business incubator located in Gyergyószentmiklós will be followed by others in Balánbánya/Bălan and Székelykeresztúr/Cristuru Secuiesc.
