The women’s organization of RMDSZ set a goal to have 500 women as council members after next year’s municipal elections. It also issued a position statement according to which the future of the Hungarian community in Transylvania will be endangered without a proper family policy.
At its weekend electoral congress in Marosvásárhely/Târgu Mureș, the organization also re-elected Rozália Biró as their president for the third time. Biró (54), an economist by training, has been the president of the organization since 2013. Formerly a senator for Bihar/Bihor County, she is also a member of the Romanian parliament.
