Oversubscription at the BBU summer admission session

The summer admission session of Babeș–Bolyai University of Kolozsvár/Cluj-Napoca, the best university of Romania ended this week. The programs of the institute attracted almost 20,000 applicants. The most popular specialization was the digital media program from the Faculty of Political, Administrative and Communication Sciences, with 14,26 registered candidates for a seat.

The university registered really high applicant numbers for other specializations as well. The Accounting and Business Data Processing program of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration attracted 12,07 candidates for a seat, while the Business Information Systems from them same faculty attracted 10,4 applicants per seat. The Psychology specialization from the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences attracted 9,75 candidates per seat, while the Business Administration program from Faculty of Business has 8,29 applicants for a seat. Among the popular specializations we can find the Japan program from the Faculty of Letters (7,25 applicants/seat), the Computer Science program from Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Sciences (6,98 applicants/seat) and Law specialization from Faculty of Law (6,19 candidate/seat).

The UBB’s 21 faculties offered 4,975 freshman places financed from the state budget, almost 9,400 places on self-financed tuition and 2,700 distance learning places. The university also offered 3,451 state-funded places and 6,106 self-financed ones for its Master’s courses.

The fall admission session will start on September 1st, all of the information regarding the process will be published on the university’s website.
