A man recorded three bears running on a street in Csíkkozmás (Cozmeni in Romanian) on Monday in broad daylight. The man recorded the bears from his car and posted the video on Facebook.
As can be seen in the footage, three bears – two larger ones and a smaller one – are running on Gyár Street in Csíkkozmás then split up. The animals were seen together again shortly afterward, running toward a place outside of the settlement.
Hungarian newspaper Székelyhon asked Alina Maria Ciobotariu, the spokesperson of the Hargita (Harghita) County Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU), if the bears were reported to the authorities. Ciobotariu said they hadn’t received any calls at the 112 emergency number about the presence of the wild animals.
However, they did receive a call about a bear wandering in Tusnádfürdő (Băile Tușnad) on Monday. The ISU even sent a Ro-Alert emergency message to those in the area at 13:09, and gendarmes and paramedics went to the scene.
