A passenger train, consisting of two wagons caught on fire on Wednesday evening at the Seleuș train station in Arad. The eight people traveling on the train – two drivers and six passengers – managed to get off safely, ziare.com reports.
“Today, around 20.00, the train driver of the Regio Brad – Arad train announced via the 112 service about a fire that broke out on the train traveling with 2 wagons. The train was stopped at the Seleuş train station. There were six passengers and two drivers on the train who got off without any problems,” the Arad County Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU) announced.
One firefighter and one SMURD crew from the Ineu Detachment of the ISU went to the scene.
“The help arrived at the scene in 10 minutes, the subunit being close to the scene of the incident, and managed to limit and extinguish the fire without it spreading to the entire wagon,” said ISU Arad.
