The Medieval Festival of Sighișoara is coming up

After skipping it last year, the City Hall of Segesvár/Sighișoara has decided that this year they will organize the Medieval Festival of Segesvár/Sighișoara. Between July the 30th and August the 1st knights and dames, fools, performance artists, musicians and craftsmen will perform in the castle.

The festival, which has come to its 27th edition will start with a colorful procession reproducing the medieval times, and also with a concert and a theatre premiere. The event, – which last year was cancelled due to the pandemic – this year will be organized respecting all pandemic regulations from Friday to Sunday night in the castle, its squares, streets, where everyone can enter free of charge. Although the official program is not yet out, the organizers promise that it will be worth to visit Segesvár/Sighișoara these days.

Just as in the previous years, the organizers would like reproduce the atmosphere of medieval times in the castle for three days. For this reason on the squares, streets of the inside of the castle only handmade products and merchandize of artistic value will be sold. There will be also performers, giants and dwarfs, fire- and sword eaters, characters of medieval markets. Visitors will be able to witness knight processions, medieval troops also.  Emphasis is on the medieval atmosphere, those interested will be able to experience the feasts of old times, how people of the castle, of the town amused themselves centuries before our time.
