A 41-year-old man found guilty of sharing child porn videos on the internet was handed a suspended sentence on Tuesday of two years of jail with probation and was has to perform community service in a high school or local city hall. The children in the videos ranged from the age of 2 to 14 .
The Court of Gorj county in southern Romania sentenced the man from the village of Bilteni after he was convicted of child pornography in a continuous form. The decision is not final.
“It obliges the condemned to execute the following obligation: to attend one or more social reintegration programs conducted by the probation service or organized in collaboration with the institutions in the community.
During his probation, the defendant will provide unpaid work for the benefit of the community at Bilteni City Hall or the Technological High School of Bilteni, Gorj County, for a period of 100 working days. The defendant was under house arrest from October 30, 2019, until now,” the court communicated.
The man was found guilty of sharing over 400 child pornography videos on the Internet between 2016 and 2019. The children appearing in the videos are 2 to 14 years old.
The investigation was coordinated by a prosecutor from the Regional Bureau of Gorj of the Directive of Investigations of Criminal Offenses in Organized Crime and Terrorism.
