Two men of the law were attacked with a scythe in Dâmbovița and now “risk losing their fingers,” the Europol Syndicate stated. The aggressors were shot.
The Europol Syndicate published images of the two policemen who were injured in Văcărești, Dâmbovița County.
“The policemen risk losing their fingers after an aggressor, who had issues with the law, savagely attacked them.
We have situations like this because the law favors delinquents; policemen are only allowed to use their guns after they ran out of all other ways of mediating the conflict. In this case, our colleagues were attacked directly before being able to react. While the policemen were victims of the assault, they get zero protection,” the Europol Syndicate states.
One of the perpetrators was shot by the police in the leg, the other one in the stomach.
On Sunday night, a 44-year-old man from Văcărești called the 112 emergency number to say that he was in a conflict with the neighbors.
“A police crew of two agents went to the spot to mediate the conflict when a man threatened them with a sharp object. Thus, a shot was fired into the air to warn the person involved in the conflict; because the warning was not respected, the policeman fired additional shots, resulting in the aggressor being wounded on the inferior limb. The brother of the aggressor then came in to support the aggressor and attacked the policemen with the same sharp object. This time, the policemen used their guns, and the man was shot in the stomach,” states the Dămbovița County Police.
