Kolozsvár/Cluj-Napoca opens again – hopefully for longer than before

The Public Health Authority has published new data on the coronavirus infection rate. According to the latest results, Kolozsvár/Cluj-Napoca dropped below the threshold of 3 cases per 1,000 inhabitants and now stands at 2.98. That means that from now on, the lives of people in the city will follow the regulations for a yellow zone.

According to this, restaurants, including their interiors, may open, and the weekend curfew will be pushed back to 10 p.m. Also, cultural institutions, cinemas and theaters may open. The news was confirmed by Szilárd István Tasnádi, the prefect of Kolozsvár. He added that restaurants may open and use 30 percent of their inner space. Back on February 9, restrictions were also eased; however, restaurants had to close as fast as they had opened and cinemas and theaters didn’t even get to welcome audiences because cases rose above 3 per 1,000 after just three days.

Hopefully, this time, the opening will last longer than that.
