In spite of the third wave, 90 percent of Romanians eager to travel

According to a survey conducted by the accommodation reservation site Travelminit, more than 90 percent of domestic tourists wish to travel somewhere during the period starting from Easter until the end of the summer. According to the Travelminit team, the vaccine will have a positive impact on the willingness to travel in Romania.

Domestic travelers make plans at least one month beforehand

More and more people have access to the vaccine, and immunity may temper the coronavirus infection ratio. So, domestic hosts are preparing for a new season, and 90 percent like to pay for their travel package at least one month before traveling.

Pensions and hotels continue to be the most requested type of accommodation, although at the seaside, smaller accommodations are also popular: houses, campsites and apartments. Most travelers first search for seaside accommodations followed by those in the mountains or in a remote, quiet area. Spas offering medical treatments are popular as well.

One of the most important things for tourists is flexible reservation conditions, that is, reservation without advance payment and free cancellation. From the start of the coronavirus pandemic period, the Travelminit site has offered the chance to book reservations without any financial risk in 4,000 lodgings. They even let you change the time of travel and cancel the reservation without losing the deposit.

Other factors taken into consideration are the meals provided, the possibility to eat on the spot, relaxation/recreation possibilities (pools, tubs or leisure activities), accessible prices, a remote location and compliance with health requirements.

The average amount that people are willing to pay for one room is RON 100–200. Most travelers book for 5–7 days.
