German and Hungarian theater of Temesvár hold joint showcase

The Hungarian and German theaters of Temesvár/Timișoara will hold a series of joint performances at the end of January and early February. It will be a mix of the two companies’ premieres from the 2018/19 season.

The Hungarian performances will consist of Ibsen’s Hedda Gabler directed by Tom Dugdale from the U.S., Thomas Vinterberg’s The Commune about the hippie movement in 1970s Sweden, Small Cosmic Misunderstanding by Hungarian author Anna Csábi. The German Theater will perform A Romanian Diary.Temesvár – a personal tale of the city’s past and present from the perspective of six actors’ experiences.

Temesvár is the only city in Europe with state theaters in three languages – Romanian, Hungarian and German.
