One of the most unique of the Transylvanian carnival amusements, that happen before Lent, the Funeral of the Carnival in Torockó opens with the betyárok, the outlaw characters snapping their whips to chase away the chilly, winter season in one of the best-preserved and most beautiful rural attractions in Romania.
