Man lost on hike forgot to notify mountain rescuers after arriving home

A 36-year-old man called the 112 emergency number on Saturday night after he got lost in the Bucsecs (Bucegi in Romanian) Mountains on the Piciorul Pietrei Arse walking route. A troop of the Salvamont mountain rescuers was looking for the man for three days, as he forgot to inform them that he had arrived home in the meantime, safe and healthy, Hungarian news portal Transindex.ro reports.

“We received the emergency call of the man in trouble, and after three days of searching, day and night, after the special efforts of dozens of rescuers and after human, material and financial resources were consumed, only now, the missing person was willing to turn on his phone, and we were able to find out that he is home, feeling good. We are speechless; these kinds of situations go beyond our ability to understand,” Salvamont announced on its Facebook Page.

As Salvamont wrote, 18 mountain rescuers from the Salvamont Prahova, Sinaia and Bușteni departments, as well as six military firefighters and three gendarmes were looking for the 36-year-old man from Bucharest. The rescuers even asked people to call if they had any information about the search.
