Just one and a half months left until the premiere of the most popular Hungarian rock opera, “Stephen, the King” (“István, a király” in Hungarian), in Sepsiszentgyörgy (Sfântu Gheorghe), and tickets will be on sale starting next week.
According to the organizers, preparations for the rock opera, which tells the story of the foundation of the Hungarian state 1,000 years ago, are going well; both the choir and the ballet dancers have been rehearsing, and costumes are being made.
Tickets will be on sale from July 15 both online at eventim.ro and at the Town Cultural Organizing Office in Sepsiszentgyörgy. Tickets will be available in the following three categories:
The rock opera will be staged five times in the Sepsi Arena in Sepsiszentgyörgy: on August 20 (the State Foundation Day of the Hungarians when they commemorate Hungary’s first King, St. Stephen), August 21, August 22, August 23 and August 24.
The cast for each performance will be also available at eventim.ro, as well as on the rock opera’s Facebook page. According to the COVID restrictions in force at the moment,
during the performances, only masks will be mandatory.
The audience can enter the arena according to the restrictions in force on August 20. Organizers do not recommend the performance for children under the age of five because of the high volume of the music. Places for handicapped people will be reserved, and they can enter the arena for free, while whoever accompanies them has to buy a ticket for RON 30.
