The Romanian Government decided on Thursday to further ease the restrictive measures adopted to slow down the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic starting on July 1. Prime Minister Florin Cîțu and Home Affairs State Secretary Raed Arafat presented the government decision, maszol.ro reports.
The most important changes in the restrictive measures are the following:
– Hotels can accommodate guests up to 100 percent of their capacity.
– No more than 50 percent of the stands at indoor and outdoor sports events can be occupied by viewers if the infection rate in the municipality is less than 3 percent. Viewers have to prove that they have been vaccinated or have been infected with the virus already, or must show a negative PCR test or rapid test. The number of attendees can be increased if everyone has been vaccinated with both doses 10 days prior to the event.
– 2,500 people may attend outdoor cultural, artistic or entertainment events, but only if there are 2 square meters of free space per guest. Viewers have to prove that they have been vaccinated or have been infected with the virus already, or must show a negative PCR test or rapid test. The number of attendees can be increased if everyone has been vaccinated with both doses 10 days prior to the event.
– Private events, such as weddings and baptisms, can be organized with a maximum of 150 people if the event takes place outdoors, and with a maximum of 100 if it takes place indoors. The number of participants can be increased to 300 if all of the guests have been vaccinated, have a negative test or can prove that they have been infected.
– Restaurants, bars and clubs may be open till 2 a.m., and clubs, bars and discos may operate at 70 percent of their capacity if all the guests are vaccinated.
– Fairs and flea markets can reopen.
– Indoor mask-wearing is no longer obligatory at workplaces if there are a maximum of 10 people in the same room and everyone is vaccinated.
– A maximum of 150 people can attend trainings or workshops if the event takes place indoors, and 200 people if the event takes place outdoors, while 150 people can participate at conferences if there are at least 2 square meters per guest.
