The mayor of Temesvár/Timișoara, Dominic Fritz, announced on his Facebook page that he has tested positive for coronavirus. The city manager reported that he woke up with muscle aches and a light fever on Wednesday morning and because of this, he took a covid test. That afternoon, he got the result, which was positive, so he went into a 14-day quarantine. He made clear that he never was in the presence of his colleagues at City Hall without a mask so none of the workers at the municipality count as a direct-contact person.
The mayor wrote that he did not get away with it the third time, implying that he had suspected he was infected twice before. During the mayor’s quarantine, Vice Mayor Ruben Lațcău will run the affairs at City Hall, but Fritz hopes that they will be able to soon vote on pronouncing a second vice mayor office, which would be occupied by Cosmin Tabără.
