CFR Kolozsvár manager Conceição leaves after seven months

The Portuguese manager of CFR Kolozsvár/Cluj António Conceição left the team seven months after his appointment, the club announced on its official Facebook page.

The club and manager mutually agreed on a “friendly termination of the contract”, the club said and wished the former Portuguese right back luck in his further career. This was “Toni” Conceição’s third time as CFR manager and he lead of the team 13 victories, seven draws and four defeats. League 1 leader CFR failed to win any of its three league matches this year,  with two draws at home and one defeat away. Until the appointment of a new manager the team will be led by deputy manager Alin Minteuan.

CFR began the 2018/2019 season with manager Edward Iordănescu who took over from Dan Petrescu upon the latter’s departure to China but was sacked after a single league match. CFR leads the Romanian League 1 with three points ahead of Universitatea Craiova. Conceição is the 18th manager change since the beginning of the season in the 14-team League 1.
